The exhibition Frida Kahlo: Alas para volar brings together 31 paintings and drawings by this iconic artist, as well as 91 photographs taken by the prestigious Mexican photographer Manuel Álvarez Bravo. It also includes pages from the painter's personal diary, through which you can clearly identify her two great periods: the European and the Mexican.
Self-portraits (such as The Broken Column or My Nanny and I) are the main features of this exhibition. However, it also includes still lifes and some of his darker works (such as Unos cuantos piquetitos).

The Madrid headquarters of the Fundación Casa de México en España (C/ Alberto Aguilera, 20) is hosting the Frida Kahlo exhibition from 7 May to 30 November 2022.
Opening hours are 10:00 to 21:00 (Tuesday to Saturday), 10:00 to 14:00 (Sunday) and 10:00 to 19:00 (Monday).
General admission is €15, although half-price tickets and free tickets are available in certain cases.
The exhibition is divided into four rooms that pay special attention to Frida Kahlo's personal life and the historical context in which she lived. In addition, you can complement your visit with narrations of some of her works by downloading the QR codes that appear next to them.
