A journalist by training, businesswoman Carmen Cordón Muro is co-founder, together with her husband Ignacio Jiménez, of Hidden Away Hotels, a family business project whose portfolio includes brands such as Posada Terra Santa and Samaritana Suites, in Palma de Mallorca, and Gran Hotel Inglés, in Madrid, considered the fashionable boutique hotel of the capital, which serves as accommodation for international stars, hosts shootings for fashion editorials and is a meeting point for politicians: "This hotel is the flagship of the company. We always knew about Madrid's capacity as a tourist destination and our space is a luxury bubble inspired by Madrid's 1920s," says Cordón. With the challenge of revolutionising the hotel business in mind, this businesswoman is clear about the strengths of the team she forms with Jiménez: "Ignacio is an outstanding manager and executive who has always guided our steps towards a solid and defined business plan, and I am an entrepreneurial spirit with endless creativity".
Hidden Away Hotels expands its luxury business with new hotels in Granada and Seville
This hotel, a lifestyle icon, found in Rockwell Group its interior design ally to provide warmth and glamour. "When I travel, I look for luxury to feel welcomed with joy by the best host in the city, and that is what we try to achieve with the best facilities and equipment. This way, the client has a different experience and always remembers it", confesses Cordón. A goal achieved if we take into account that, under the umbrella of the coronavirus, Hidden Away Hotels is already working on the opening of a luxury establishment in Granada, "a work of art in the sector, and in the Plaza de Triana, a type of hotel that does not exist in the area. My husband's family is from there and that makes it even more special", says Carmen Cordón and continues: "The pandemic has marked Spanish companies, especially those dedicated to tourism. Moreover, we are luxury and leisure. We have been clear about our social responsibility to maintain the business, carrying out a risk assessment, readjusting the financing plan and maintaining constant and transparent communication with the whole team".
