This consortium has joint action channels between the different state, regional and local administrations in order to promote greater institutional connectivity and a joint vision and direction for action.

From the Madrid City Council, the Delegate for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Andrea Levy, wanted to meet with the different agents in the sector to listen to and understand their needs, to provide tools and to help Madrid continue to grow in this direction. Levy declared that Madrid is going to be the "place to be" for at least the next five years. For this reason, work is being done on security, cleanliness and the development of major events to make Madrid a magnetic place for quality tourism and a dynamic city for the people of Madrid.

In the words of the president of MCDL, Kevin de Ribes: "The time has come to really compete, we are better prepared and have much more on offer than other European capitals, now it's time to believe it and put it into practice. Madrid Luxury Destination has drawn up a 2-year plan with different international missions to position the capital and establish institutional and tourist links of higher quality".

Sandra Andújar, vice-president of Madrid Luxury Capital, added: "Madrid is a city in full effervescence that is knowing how to identify its strengths and to put them to good use. This sense of pride and belonging is driving the city and the region. Working together across sectors, sharing know-how and proposing ideas for the improvement of the capital will be a great tool for drawing up a strategic plan that comes from the stick holders themselves in collaboration with the administrations to create a solid project, sustainable over time, and a greater attraction and appeal for quality tourism".

The president of the community, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, had already stressed the need for the creation of this entity and the Madrid Luxury Destination consortium created by MCDL.

The sector has expressed its gratitude for this first meeting in which interesting initiatives and requests have arisen and have been collected to be converted into actions to position Madrid as one of the great luxury benchmarks.

The event was also supported by Elite Excellence - Spanish Luxury Federation.
