Discover the unmissable coves of Mallorca
Sa Calobra Cove
This cove is actually two: Sa Calobra and Torrent de PareisThe beach is accessed by crossing a cave. The attraction of this place is that to access the beach you have to cross a road that crosses a difference in height of more than 800 metres.
The beaches, located in the Sierra de Tramontana mountain range, are flanked by cliffs some 200 metres high that make them a paradise for the senses. An important recommendation: don't go barefoot, as the environment is not sandy, but gravel coves.
Mitjana Cove
Mitjana is medium-sized, so that in Spanish this enclave can be referred to as Mediana Cove. As in the previous case, this is one of the best Mallorca's coves and is surrounded by high cliffs from which the coast of Menorca can be seen.
The most outstanding feature of this small beach is its white sand and its turquoise and totally clear waters. To reach it you have to go to the outskirts of the Cala d'Or urbanisation in Felanitx. Its access, however, is not very well signposted, but the good thing about this is that it is a place that is not very frequented by tourists.
Mondragó Cove
Another beach that is a must when visiting Mallorca. This cove is part of the Mondragó natural park. Next to it are the beaches of S'Amarador and Es Burgit.
At Mondragó Cove It is common for many tourists to visit the beach, as it is an easily accessible location. On the nearby beach of S'Amarador there is a free car park that facilitates the arrival of bathers. From there you only have to walk for about 15 minutes to reach your destination, a beautiful beach of fine sand surrounded by pine trees and rocks.
Formentor Beach
In the north of the island, close to Puerto de Pollença, is located the Formentor beach. It is a sandy beach with extremely shallow waters that allow you to swim up to half a kilometre out to sea from the shore. For this reason, and because of its clear waters, it is one of the best snorkelling spots in Mallorca.
The beach, which stretches for a kilometre and a half of very fine white sand, is surrounded by a pine forest and well protected by high mountains. Formentor is divided into three small areas: L'Espigó, La Veranda and Platjamar. Another tip from Samaritana Suites is to look out over the Mediterranean from the viewpoint on the beach. The height of the mountain, which reaches 232 metres.
