Christmas in Seville 2025: Lights, Traditions and Plans to Experience the Magic of the City
Christmas in Seville transforms the city into a stage filled with light, music and emotion. Every year, Seville blends tradition and modernity to offer locals and visitors a unique celebration, where the aroma of roasted chestnuts, flamenco carols, and illuminated streets create an unforgettable atmosphere. In 2025, the Andalusian capital once again presents a vibrant festive programme full of shows, markets, family activities and Christmas lights that will turn the historic centre into a true visual spectacle.
A Spectacular Christmas Lighting
This year, Christmas in Seville comes with exciting new features in its lighting display. The City Council has opted for exclusive designs featuring horizontal and vertical motifs created with multicoloured LED microbulbs.
The highlight will be found on Avenida de la Constitución, where 32 illuminated trees measuring 7.5 metres will be installed from Plaza Nueva to Puerta de Jerez. For the first time, the decoration “grows from the ground”, forming a branching structure that leads the eye to giant suspended Christmas balls in the centre of the avenue. The result will be a completely renewed visual effect—perfect for strolling, taking photos and enjoying the city’s festive spirit
More Than 300 Illuminated Streets
Over 300 streets across Seville’s eleven districts will shine with Christmas decorations. This year, the city expands the number of illuminated areas and introduces a special novelty: three lighting designs created by local students aged 10 to 16, selected through a municipal contest.
Inspired by iconic Sevillian symbols such as the Triana Bridge, the Macarena’s mariquillas, and classic Christmas motifs, these designs will decorate emblematic areas including Calle Betis, José María de Pereda, Francisco Carrera Iglesias and Plaza Miguel de Unamuno.
Navigalia: The Great Audiovisual Show of Christmas
Christmas in Seville wouldn’t be the same without Navigalia, the mapping show returning for the third consecutive year.
From 18 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the Triana dock, Muelle de la Sal and the surface of the Guadalquivir River will become an immersive stage attracting thousands of spectators. With 70 sessions over 14 days, with performances approximately every hour, the show will combine lights, music and projections to celebrate the history, culture and magic of Seville.
The City’s Most Traditional Christmas Markets
Seville has embraced the tradition of Christmas markets, which attract more visitors each year. Three of them have become true local classics:
- Feria del Belén, on Avenida de la Constitución
- Creative Craft Market, in the Jardines de Cristina
- Setalandia Market, in Plaza de la Encarnación
In addition, neighbourhoods such as Nervión, Bellavista, Triana, Los Remedios and Sevilla Este will host Christmas markets offering crafts, decorations, children’s activities and local food products. Also noteworthy are the Christmas fair in Parque María Luisa, and the markets in Alameda de Hércules and Plaza de la Magdalena, ideal for a festive outdoor stroll.
During weekends, another beloved tradition returns: the free distribution of mantecados and polvorones from Estepa for visitors at the Real Alcázar.
Flamenco Zambombas Throughout the City
Music plays a central role in Seville’s Christmas celebrations, and the zambombas flamencas have become one of the most anticipated activities. The City Council has organised eleven performances—one in each district—with free entry until full capacity is reached.
