Barcelona Design Week 2026: Discover Hotel Club 29 During Barcelona’s Design Month
Barcelona will once again become a meeting point for design, creativity and architecture this October with a new edition of the Barcelona Design Week. From 14 to 25 October 2026, the city will host a programme dedicated to exploring new ideas, processes and ways of understanding design. This year, the event will also take place in a particularly significant context: Barcelona is World Capital of Architecture 2026.
For those planning to visit the city during these dates, October will also bring a new addition to Barcelona’s hotel scene. On 5 October, Hotel Club 29, the new boutique hotel by Hidden Hotels, will open its doors at number 29 Passeig de Gràcia. Its opening comes just days before Barcelona Design Week begins, offering a new address from which to discover the city during one of the busiest months of the year for design-related activities.
Barcelona Design Week 2026: A Celebration of Design and Creativity
Barcelona Design Week is one of the city’s leading creative events. Founded in 2006 and organised by the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation, the initiative aims to bring design closer to the public while connecting professionals, businesses, studios and people interested in different creative disciplines.
The 2026 edition will take place from 14 to 25 October under the theme “PRO-TEST: Prototyping & Testing”, focusing on experimentation, process and the importance of testing, reviewing and developing ideas before arriving at a final solution. Prototyping and testing are presented as tools for exploring new possibilities and addressing current challenges through design.
During these days, Barcelona will host a wide range of proposals and activities connected to different areas of design, with the participation of professionals, educational institutions, companies and creative studios. Highlights of this edition include “50 Years of Design in Barcelona”, taking place on 16 October at BD Barcelona Design Gallery, and “Elisava 65 Years: In Motion”, which will explore the history of this design school from 14 October onwards.
The programme also extends beyond design as a discipline, incorporating architecture into the city’s agenda. On 24 and 25 October, for example, 48h Open House Barcelona will take place, offering access to more than 250 buildings and spaces across different parts of Barcelona.
A New Opening on Passeig de Gràcia
Before Barcelona Design Week begins, on 5 October 2026, Barcelona will welcome a new hotel to one of its best-known avenues. Hotel Club 29 will open at number 29 Passeig de Gràcia, in the heart of the Eixample, transforming a historic building into a luxury boutique hotel.
The project features 65 rooms and suites, some overlooking Passeig de Gràcia and others facing the characteristic inner courtyards of Barcelona’s Eixample blocks. The concept preserves elements connected to the building’s history while combining them with contemporary interiors, creating a variety of spaces designed to enhance a stay in the centre of Barcelona.
Alongside its rooms, Hotel Club 29 will feature a restaurant, signature cocktail bar, hidden terrace, meeting spaces and a wellness area equipped with Technogym equipment and a treatment room. The hotel will also offer a concierge service to help guests discover Barcelona and organise experiences, visits and activities throughout their stay.
A Visit to Barcelona in October
Beyond the specific activities taking place during Barcelona Design Week, visiting Barcelona in October offers the opportunity to discover a city with a particularly strong connection to design and architecture. In 2026, this relationship takes on an even greater significance thanks to Barcelona’s status as World Capital of Architecture, with a programme extending throughout the year.
For those looking for a boutique hotel in Barcelona during this period, Hotel Club 29 offers a new address on Passeig de Gràcia, with rooms, dining, wellness facilities and services designed to make the most of a stay in the heart of the city.
